eCab, the new taxi experience App Reviews

Used it so far 3 times and only had a cab come once, that is truly terrible. A poor mans attempt at an uber experience. Time for version 3.0, I assume 2.0 will be just as bad.

My wife and I have used this service at least 6 times recently and have been very pleased. The app design is somewhat quirky and that is why I didnt rate it 5 Stars. It is not clear how to use the saved Favorites and there is no way to delete a favorite once added. On one occasion the app said that the driver had arrived when he was caught in traffic several blocks away. I think eCab is a very strong competitor to Uber.

Confusing for a first time user. No in app Help or FAQ that I can find. Three levels of service but hard to figure out how to book the basic and levels 2 and 3 have big extra fees. You can enter a credit card but I cant figure out if you can pay by credit card at the basic level. I suppose going through a booking may make this clear but I want to know what Im getting into before I book a cab.

Generally the app works and makes booking a cab easier but Ive had far too many issues booking, tracking and paying. I stopped using ecab+ (which allows you to pay through the app with credit card) because I was usually being asked for a signature from the driver and the confusion just robs the feature of any convenience it might add.

Im in Berlin today and I cannot find Tegel airport neither book a taxi in advance. The app still lose my payment configuration. I cannot approve the payment once I arrive the destination

Does not work. Taxi wont approach. Still got charged 7 euros. Not nice.

I had the same problem as others, being charged a "no-show" fee, even though I got into a cab at my location matching the company they said was coming. When I looked at the bill, it said I was located far from my actual location! I have attempted to contact the company upwards of 10 times through the app but always get the same "error, please try again" message. I have since deleted the app. eCab needs to improve their GPS technology and/or not charge users credit cards without permission!

It just doesnt work. Quit and let Uber take over already!!

While they try to be Uber-like it has nothing on Uber. And the cabbie is not trained on how the app. He actually asked me how to deal with payment with the app. It is not seamlessly integrated with the app, the cabbie has to enter the amount on his device. There were issues during registration when setting up my account. We really need Uber in Vancouver.

Total fail. First, Facebook registration failed. Reload app, get it working, then, cant enter numbers into the pin code field. Did they even test the app? Taxis - youre about to get run over by Uber.

After cancelling a reservation and receiving confirmation "trip cancelled without charge" the cabbie showed up, phoned me, and threatened me with a $5 no-show fee. In addition to poor implementation of the app, the cab driver had no customer service skills. This morning I tried to submit a comment using the in-app function and it it just does not work. All in all, this is amateurish from start to finish.

I had a can scheduled to pick me up for a flight and it was cancelled due to a technical error and I was left standing in the rain waiting... Avoid at all costs.

Cant register. SMS verification buggy. Couldnt even order a cab. This needs a lot of work but has potential.

Sign in, sign up, log-in, get or call cab. Did anyone test this app before launching? Keyboard covers critical register button. Only option is to register through Facebook? This is a joke.

Useless app. Bugs, never gets you a cab.

Repeatedly prompted me to enter my visa and would not book. Would not allow me to enter destination address. Cant believe I tried this many times to make it work

I cant even set up an account to use this service because the app is so poorly designed. Each time I get to the second registration screen, where I enter my name and phone number and accept the terms and conditions, I can press validate because the button is below the keypad. I can temporarily scroll it above the keypad but I cant tap it to complete registration. Theres also now instructions or FAQ for the app. I want to use this service but the designers dont want me to!

Can even sign up with this app unless I do it through Facebook. Trying to use the standard email sign up and the keyboard will not drop for the validate button to be selected.

GPS function sends the cabs two blocks from where you order- then they charge you 5.00 for not being there. I watch the cab drive by me on the app and I was waving it down - still charged me. terrible terrible experience.
