eCab, the new taxi experience App Reviews

Tried to "call" a cab when trains stopped for the night on Super Bowl Sunday - downloaded the app and did a lookup in the New West area. No cabs at all - ended up hailing one off the street.

I like this app. After reading all other reviews, I dont know why people complaint so much in Vancouver. Its an easy way to get a cab and you can even pay by app.

Works perfect for me, people complaining are either uber drivers or new to smartphones

Probably the worst most glitch taxi app around. Lots of bells and whistles probably detracted from this thing actually working

Waited 40mins for a cab in the westend to pickup our request. Finally one arrived and we paid cash. Also gave a $5 tip on a $10 ride. The next morning I wake up to find that my card has also been charged. I would not bother downloading. Cannot wait for uber! There simply arent enough cabs.

An app isnt going to fix a flawed system. There simply arent enough cabs on the road. We need uber

Ive used it three times. First time worked well, although you have to tip/sign for the ride with a form the driver gives you instead of doing this through the app. The second time it worked well until I got a notification there was a problem processing payment. This despite the fact the charge clearly shows up on my card statement. The last time it didnt work at all and I just called for a cab.

This is an excellent app and makes ordering a cab in Vancouver sooo much easier. Well done! I love that I can keep track of the cab I ordered and also pre-select tip and payment info.

Would love to be able to pick drivers based on ratings. And am willing to pay for surge pricing for preference when there are no cars available. Outside of that, its such a huge leap for Vancouver from where we were without Uber.

Good app, but unless u select a cab company it takes forever to get one, even though it tells u 7 min, once u say yes, it has taken up to 10 min to find a cab and then 8 to 10 min to get the cab to my house. Also I live on a very major street and still the cab drivers seem to stop at house 2 or 3 doors down with clearly labelled addresses that are not where they need to be nor mine which is labelled clearly too Good app but sooooooo much improvements required I would happily assist in helping figure it out on the user side as I no longer program (20 yrs ago)...if someone actually wants to fix it Tony

Terrible app not user friendly and cab didnt come picked up another fare

I decided to try this app to support taxi drivers in Ottawa instead of using Uber, which I actually like. That was a mistake. I got charged a $10 service fee on top of the taxi fare ($12) because I paid through the app with my credit card. Be aware of that and pay the cab driver directly in cash if you use it. I wont use this app again.

Generally good app and service. So much better than previous situation of calling and hoping. Some issues Ive had: * cancelled a cab before it allocated me one, said it had canceled, irate cab driver called me 10 mins later and I got charged $5 for nothing. Teething problems. * sometimes it says cab has arrived long before it does. * needs to be more info on the difference between eCab and eCab+ obvious within the app or sign up process Keep at it guys!

I have never been able to use this app. Every time I try I get an error message saying my email is in use already. But theres no way to reset a forgotten password and start again. Frustrating.

It’s a good app, but when I select «later» I can not even chose the date as the app crashes. iPhone 5.1, iOS 7.1.1

I hate this app!! Unlike professional German taxi apps, this one will NOT order a taxi for u unless it has your credit card info!!! Why not accept PayPal???? No, it wants to scan ur credit card edit calling a taxi!! No way Im going to trust my credit card info in apps like that!! Useless. Better download professional apps like "My Taxi"...etc.

Just let Uber do what it does best. Which is this.

I was trying to help the cab drivers & use this app in Dublin instead of UBER, but all I got was HOSED! I typed in my address & the app said "4 minutes." When I clicked "confirm," app just swirled for 2 solid minutes, saying "requesting a car." Then, all of a sudden, the app changed and said "request cancelled, customer absent." Also, a CHARGE of €13! Considering I was standing in the lobby of my hotel & NO CAB ever showed up, this is completed crap. I still had to ask the reception desk at the hotel to call me a cab & will now need to fight this charge with my bank. This app is a total scam, IMHO.
